Within the scope of the Cultural Activities Program of EXPO 2023 Kahramanmara\u015f Organization Urban Best Practice Area \u2013\u00a0UBPA event will be held together with the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) to be exhibited\u00a0within Expo 2023 Kahramanmara\u015f between the dates of 23 April \u2013 31 October.<\/p>

Urban Best Practices (UBPA) will be a new showcase for participating cities and organizations to exhibit their\u00a0theme-related projects developed within the framework of the innovative practice environment.<\/p>

Physical and non-physical objects will be used in projects that will increase the quality of urban life and will serve\u00a0as a platform where urban development experiences are shared.<\/p>

The procedures and principles regarding the Urban Best Practices (UBPA), which will be announced by EXPO 2023\u00a0Kahramanmara\u015f with an invitation letter, are arranged as follows.<\/p>

1.Terms of Participation<\/strong>
1.1.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Main Theme and Themes<\/strong>
Candidate projects that want to participate in the Urban Best Practices (UBPA) event will be related to EXPO\u00a02023 Kahramanmara\u015f main and sub-themes and exhibition concepts.<\/p>

Theme<\/strong>
Nature-Friendly City and Sensitivity<\/strong>
One of the major problems of\u00a0the 21st century is the global spread of urbanization. With the increasing population and the opening of natural\u00a0areas, the rapid consumption of natural resources and completely human and production-oriented space design threaten\u00a0the future of our planet. In this perspective, while the expression \u201cNature-Friendly City\u201d draws attention to the new\u00a0<\/span>shape that global urbanization should take, the word \u201csensitivity\u201d emphasizes the necessity of people\u2019s interest in\u00a0<\/span>nature and natural life.<\/span><\/p>

Sub-Themes<\/strong>
1.1.1.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Nature Based Education for Children<\/strong>
The first principle of protecting the environment and ecological balance is to create a nature-based education\u00a0for children. The future of our lonely and beautiful planet depends on prioritizing nature-based education.<\/p>

1.1.2.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Biophilic Design of Urban Transformation:<\/strong>
In Latin, the
word \u201cbio\u201d means \u201clife\u201d and \u201cbiophilia\u201d means \u201clove of life\u201d. \u201cBiophilic Design\u201d is an innovative way to design the\u00a0spaces we live and work in. Its distinguishing feature is to give the main priority to nature.<\/p>

1.1.3.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Urban Horticulture and Local Food:<\/strong>
The geographical\u00a0location of Kahramanmara\u015f makes it the center of \u201cTurkish Cuisine\u201d. The unique and rich heritage of national and local\u00a0cuisine will be reassessed in the context of the latest global trend, urban horticulture.<\/p>

1.1.4.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Greener, Healthier, Happier:<\/strong>
Green environment means
more sporting activities and more peace of mind. More sports and more peaceful people mean a happier society and city.
All research confirms this cycle. If we know the right answer, shouldn\u2019t we change our understanding of urbanism?<\/p>

1.1.5.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Wisdom of Simplicity:<\/strong>
Increasing consumption of Earth\u2019s
limited resources, climate-changing global warming, ever-expanding urbanization, and global intelligence that exists
only in the present and is consuming the legacy of the past and future. Could this be the wisdom of simplicity stated
by all the great religions for the struggle of the mind?

Collection of Candidate\u00a0Projects. (1 July 2021 \u2013 01 March 2022)

2nd Stage<\/strong>
Evaluation of the Projects by the \u201cParticipation Committee\u201d and their presentation to the \u201cEvaluation and Selection\u00a0Committee\u201d.<\/p>

3rd Stage<\/strong>
Identification of the participants by the \u201cEvaluation and Selection Committee\u201d (1 -15 April 2022)<\/p>

4th Stage<\/strong><\/p>

Sending an invitation letter by the Expo 2023 Kahramanmara\u015f Organization to the Projects determined by the \u201cEvaluation and Selection Committee\u201d. (15-30 April)<\/span><\/p>

5th Stage<\/strong>
Submission of attendance plans by participants. (1 June 2022)<\/p>


6th Stage<\/strong>
Technical negotiations on the conditions of participation with the Expo 2023 Kahramanmara\u015f Organization. (15 June-15\u00a0August 2022)<\/p>


7th Stage<\/strong>
Sending participation confirmations. (1 September 2022)<\/p>


8th Stage<\/strong>
Signing the Participation Agreement and subjecting it to the relevant procedures.<\/p>


9th Stage<\/strong>
