As the Mayor of Onikisubat/Kahramanmaraş, I am happy and excited to host the Horticultural EXPO 2023 in my city.

Kahramanmaraş is a city with a population of approximately 1.18 million people, with its rich culture, nature and well developed social and economic infrastructure.

The name of the city Maraş has a history of 3000 years, and the city has a history of 9000 years. Kahramanmaras, in English means heroic Maras given after its heroic resistance during the Turkish independence war.

Kahramanmaraş is an important meeting point for civilizations with its tradition of tolerance and rich cultural heritage.

EXPO 2023 Onikisubat/Kahramanmaraş will be one of the biggest projects that will significantly change the future of our city.

In the global world, Expos provide economic, political and cultural contributions to the countries and cities, take the city’s brand value to higher levels.

Horticultural Expos bring nature and people together and play a positive role in solving the problems created by rapid urbanization. Expo 2023 is designed in accordance with all these goals.

Year 2023 is the “100th Anniversary of our Republic” and the opening day of Expo is April 23rd which is Turkey’s National Sovereignty and Children’s Day give a deeper meaning to our project.

EXPO 2023 will bring economic development to the horticulture business, and also contribute to the creation of joint investments and employment with the support of participating countries.
